In we marched,
taking everything away.
Claiming it’s ours,
“Our home and native land.”

They shared,
They cared.
We teared
the trust woven in a land we call ‘home.’

Yet, we weren’t invited.
We invaded
another’s home,
to claim our own.

Thieves we are,
with no remorse.

Over and over we keep breaking hearts,
causing pain and suffering
to those native to this land.

Let us be kinder.
Let us be caring.
Let us be sharing.
Let us give what wasn’t rightly ours.

Let us be Canadians.
