Amplifying and Engaging the Voices of Youth...

Prioritization is the key to time management. You may not be able to do everything you WANT in one day and that means making hard choices about what you really need to do and what can wait. Making a list of your priorities can help you determine what you should and should not be allocating your time towards during each day of the week. For example, do you really need to do laundry on a busy weekday night, or can it wait till the weekend? Creating an hourly schedule will help you stay on track and not get distracted. Include time for relaxation and play in order to make sure these do not creep into your time for work. Multitasking is not a great option generally, so focus during your day on discrete and single tasks. You will find that focusing on getting your top priorities done decreases the inefficiency associated with scattered action and thought, giving you more time overall.
